Jack Hunter, Author of “The Blue Max” Dies at 87

Jack Hunter passed away after a battle with cancer. Hunter wrote the World War I novel The Blue Max about a German corporal who joins the German air corps and sets out to win the highest honor, the “Blue Max.” His goal was to shoot down 20 enemy planes. The Blue Max was later made into a movie by the same title, which starred George Peppard and Ursula Andress.
