Dr. Lewis Sorley to Give Inaugural Class Lecture at VMI

Dr. Lewis Sorley, the Floyd D. Gottwald, Jr. ’43 Visiting Professor of Leadership and Ethics at Virginia Military Institute will give the inaugural Class Lecture to all members of the Class of 2009 tonight. The topic of the lecture will be “The Military Virtues.”

Dr. Sorley is a third generation West Point graduate. After retiring from a distinguished career in the Army, he spent time as a senior civilian official in the Central Intelligence Agency. He is also a noted author and historian. In 2007, Dr. Sorley was honored with the Andrew J. Goodpaster Award by the American Veterans Center. He has spoken at several of their annual conferences.
