Disabled Iraq and Afghan Vets Take to the Slopes

Disabled Sports USA Far West and the Wounded Warriors Project teamed up to bring 20 disabled veterans to Tahoe City last week to learn to sky. Doug Pringle, president of Disabled Sports USA Far West, is a wounded warrior himself. He lost a leg to a rocket-propelled grenade in Vietnam. Disabled World War II vets taught him how to ski. Now Pringle teaches another generation of wounded warriors how to ski. Read more in the San Francisco Chronicle or the North Lake Tahoe Bonanza.

The Department of Veterans Affairs is hosting a sports clinic in Snowmass Village, CO from March 29 to April 3.
