President Obama Considers Lifting Ban on Pictures of War Dead

President Barack Obama has ordered the Pentagon to review the ban on media coverage of flag-draped coffins arriving at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware. The ban has been in place since the Gulf War. Anti-war groups and opponents of President G. W. Bush’s policies on the war on terror have been trying to get the ban removed for several years. The general public favors the ban’s removal while a majority of military families appreciate not having the repatriation ceremonies covered.
