Over 30 Veterans Share Their Stories with Gainesville Middle Schoolers

Middle school teacher Haynes Kaufman teamed up with Julie Carson of Brenau University’s Northeast Georgia History Center to teach his students living history. This year over 30 veterans of World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and the Cold War shared their stories with their student interviewers. The group of veterans was very diverse – from airplane pilots to army nurses to submarine pilots. This is the second year students have conducted these interviews.
