Quote of the Day

“Now people will say that is uncommon valor. What I know of those men and what I read in the Medal of Honor citations about the ones who are with me on this panel and their Medal of Honor winners, it was a common virtue, a common virtue.”

-Major James “Brooks” Schultze in reference to the five men who received the Medal of Honor posthumously for actions in Iraq or Afghanistan. Maj. Schultze along with four other soldiers shared the stories of the Medal recipients they fought beside at the American Veterans Center’s 2008 conference. All five recipients were killed in the action for which they received the Medal. The stories that were shared at the conference, will be published in the next issue of American Valor Quarterly. Maj. Schultze served with SFC Paul Ray Smith.
