From the Greatest Generation to the Latest Generation

Over 300 elementary students in Troy, NY listened to World War II veteran Sandy Levin recount his story last week. Mr. Levin was on his way to Normandy when an enemy torpedo sank his ship. A British ship rescued Mr. Levin and his comrades from the cold waters.

Also at the school was another WWII vet Bill Peak, the founder of the Patriot Flight Organization, which flies vets to Washington, DC to see the World War II Memorial.

The elementary school is participating in a Yankee Candle fundraiser. Forty percent of its proceeds will go to Patriot Flight. Read more on this topic.
