President Barack Obama Visits Walter Reed

One day before his inauguration President-elect Obama visited Walter Reed Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC. He spent part of MLK Day visiting with veterans that were wounded in the line of battle.

“As we honor that legacy, it’s not a day just to pause and reflect — it’s a day to act,” Obama said in reference to Martin Luther King, Jr, “I ask the American people to turn today’s efforts into an ongoing commitment to enriching the lives of others in their communities, their cities, and their country.”
