Obama attended 10 balls on Monday night. He is the only President to skip attending the Salute to Heroes Ball. All other Presidents over the ball’s 56-year and 14-President history have honored our nation’s heroes by attending this ball. There were 48 Medal of Honor recipients at the ball on Monday night.

The American Legion, The Military Order of the Purple Heart, Paralyzed Veterans of America and other similar organizations sponsor the ball.
