World’s Last Female WWI Vet Turn 109

Now living in Canada and celebrating her 109th birthday, Gladys Powers served with the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force and is the last female vet of the Great War. Not only is it incredible that Ms. Powers if old enough to have made a contribution to the RAF during WWI, it is mind boggling to consider that she was born before there was even powered flight.

Gladys Powers of Abbotsford, the world's oldest surviving female war veteran, will be 109 on Saturday.
