Frank Buckles, One of Few Remaining WWI Vets, To Appear in National Memorial Day Parade

One of only three remaining American veterans of World War I, Frank Buckles of Charles Town, WV will serve as the Honorary Marshal for World War I in the 2007 National Memorial Day Parade. Buckles, who served in the Army during the war, is nearly the last of almost five million Americans who served in what was known as the “War to End All Wars.”

We are honored to have Mr. Buckles in the National Memorial Day Parade, and encourage our fellow Americans – especially our younger generations – to come to the parade and pay tribute to this gentleman who is one of our last links to one of history’s greatest and most tragic wars.
